Perth WA is one of the oldest cities in Australia and because of its isolation has retained much of its historic and unique character. If you stroll along the Swan River from the city you'll soon come across Kings Park. Located atop a hill, with sweeping views, this is one of the most spectacular of Perth's parks. Captain Cook river cruises in Perth run jaunts up and down the Swan River, which give you lovely vistas of the city, as well as a chance to peak into the back yards of some gorgeous riverside mansions. But, if you'd rather check out the native fauna's habitat, you can pop across the river to east Perth and check out the Perth Zoo.
